Laurie and Randy

Laurie and Randy will be married on Oct 3. They are such a fun couple and so in love. We had a wonderful time in New Harmony shooting engagement pictures on Saturday. I can't wait until their wedding.

Ayme's Wedding

What a beautiful wedding for a great couple. It was a hot summer day, but most didn't seem to mind. The wedding was at a lovely shady gazebo at Covington Woods Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Busy week coming. Getting ready for a wedding this weekend. I'm helping Tanya FarmHouse Kids with a wedding. She is the Momzilla of the Groom (LOL Tanya J/K) and she can't take pictures of herself, so here I am!

Processing cute babies

I've been following a free class at http://www.jessicasprague.com These are a few of my samples from the tutorials. She is great and provides easy to follow instructions and videos. In the 1st week we have done brushes, textures, frames, clipping masks and hand tinting. So far I love the classes and it is helping me get out of my processing rut. As usual I didn't follow her examples to the T and used my own touches here and there.

The babies are Camdyn and Cooper. I've done Camdyn's parents portraits from their engagement and wedding through maternity and now Camdyn's since birth These are her 9 month shots with her little buddy Cooper.

The picture of Austin is a 6 year old T ball player doing what they do best. Playing in the dirt.

This too shall pass......

We've had a lot of storms in the area today. Some tornadoes to the south of us.
Chester is tired of the rain, but the tulips seem to just glow with the water drops.
This was all I got before another downpour started.

Our neighbor decided to test out his boat on the lake. Beyond the dam is about a 20 foot drop to the corn fields. Just to let you know, he did stop in time.

Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday 4/4/09 was the Destiny of Faith Easter Egg Hunt. They really went all out and had Inflatables, Hot Dogs and Hamburgers and all kinds of little games for the kids to play. Then of course was the famous 3 minute Easter Egg Hunt. That's about how long it lasts.

Destiny of Faith in right next door to Rural King, so of course we had to do some window shopping.

Spring Flowers

A few of my spring flowers. Everything is spattered with mud as we've had heavy rains the past few days. It was pretty today, but more storms expected tomorrow. I worried that I might miss them altogether, so I thought I better shoot them tonight. I used my Sigma 150 Macro hand held for these.

Storms and Tornados

The 1st picture is to the east of us, the 2nd to the south and the 3rd is towards the NE. We really didn't get much other than a few good hard downpours and a little wind. Corydon, Ky. which is about 40 miles south of us was hit by a tornado and there was a lot of destruction. I haven't heard of any serious injuries or deaths.

Tulip Tree

Our Tulip Tree is so pretty this year. Many years it burst into bloom and then we get a frost and it is ruined. So far this year, it's been safe. Tulips are the Indiana State Tree.

We make them work!!!

Autin has a new toy. He thinks running the RotoKiller is the greatest thing in the world. He tilled quite a bit of the garden. Of course we were standing just out of camera range at every minute in case he got trouble.

An Amazing Woman

This is an amazing woman. She is the grandmother of one of my grooms. She is also Cherokee Indian. In their wedding there will be Cherokee traditions included. That will be a first for me and I'm very excited about it. Two weeks before this picture was taken at the Bridal Shower she had a stroke. The doctors told the family that she would not make it. After a week, she greeted her daughter as she walked in the hospital room barking out orders and wanting to go home.

Pinewood Derby

Our selection of winners at the Pinewood Derby. They were all winners that day.

Looks like a whole night is going to be spent playing.

The Vikings

 

The Vikings invaded North Posey High School! The school mascot is a Viking so this troupe of reenactors setup their camp on the school grounds and gave demonstrations throughout the day. This is a quern. This is how they ground their wheat to make flour. Another stone fits on the top and in spun around to produce a fine flour.

Christian Prom

The kids had such a great time at the Salvation Army Christian Prom. Each year the Salvation Army really goes all out to make a special night for the kids. Food, drinks, a DJ, and a crazy photographer who takes all the pictures you want.
I think I have as much fun as they do.
